West Virginia Board of Medicine FAQ List

Q: May I verify M.D.'s, D.P.M.'s, or P.A.'s in West Virginia online?

A: Yes, online verification is available through the Medical Doctor/ Podiatrist/ Physician Assistant Search.

 

Q: Does the WVBOM have a newsletter?

A: Yes, you may view the latest editions of the newsletter online or request a hard copy to be sent via mail.

 

Q: May I email the West Virginia Board of Medicine (WVBOM)?

A: Yes, visit our contact page for a list of email addresses.

 

Q: Does the WVBOM regulate D.O.'s, R.N.'s, or L.P.N's?

A: No.  D.O.'s are regulated by the Board of Osteopathy, R.N.'s are regulated by the Board of Examiners for Registered Nurses, and L.P.N.'s by the Board of Examiners for Licensed Practical Nurses.

 

Q: May I renew my West Virginia license as an M.D., D.P.M., or P.A. online?

A: This option is not available at this time for P.A.'s.  Please refer to RENEWAL FAQ on this website for additional information for M.D. and D.P.M. online renewals.

 

Q: May I change my address online?

A: You may print out a change of address form online and mail it in (be sure to sign and date it).

 

Q: If I want to file a Complaint, may I obtain a Complaint form online?

A: Yes, you may print out the Complaint Form online and mail it in.

 

Q: How do I obtain a copy of the West Virginia Medical Practice Act and/or the Board's rules?

A: The West Virginia Medical Practice Act and the Board's rules are available online, or you may request a copy by mailing your request with your check for $25 made payable to the West Virginia Board of Medicine or contact the Secretary of State at (304) 558-6000 for the Board's rules.
